FULL MOONS 2025
This year, we will see 12 Full Moons, including 3 Supermoons and 2 Blood Moons (lunar eclipses).
The new year also brings with it two solar eclipses, both partial, a full parade of planets and then Mars and Saturn visible at their best, three supermoons (on October 7, November 5 and December 4) and a close encounter between Venus and Jupiter, the brightest planets.
2 TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSES
- The first of the two total lunar eclipses of 2025 is expected on March 14 and will be visible only from the Americas.
- The second will arrive on September 7 and will be clearly visible also from Europe and in Australia, Asia and Africa. The expected duration of the totality phase is 82 minutes.
FULL MOONS CALENDAR 2025
• January 13 – Full Moon in Cancer: called the Wolf Moon, the January Full Moon will be in the sign of Cancer, which is ruled by this planet. During this period, it will be better to stay with family, with our loved ones, and above all we will perceive our emotions more deeply.
• February 12 – Full Moon in Leo: called the Snow Moon, the February Full Moon in the sign of Leo will give us the push and courage needed to make decisions that are more gut instinct than head instinct.
• March 14 – ❤️ RED MOON Full Moon in Virgo: called the Worm Moon or Earthworm Moon, the March Full Moon in the sign of Virgo invites us to be as practical and rational as possible, bringing us back down to earth.
• April 13 – Full Moon in Libra: called the Pink Moon, the April Full Moon in the sign of Libra will help us find a balance within ourselves, without making us neglect what we feel.
• May 12 – Full Moon in Scorpio: called the Flower Moon, the Full Moon of May is in the sign of Scorpio, which will help us get in touch with our most unconscious and mysterious self.
• June 11 – Full Moon in Sagittarius: called the Strawberry Moon, the Full Moon of June is in the optimistic sign of Sagittarius, and will make us look at ourselves from another perspective… perhaps more positive.
• July 10 – Full Moon in Capricorn: called the Deer Moon, the Full Moon of July is in Capricorn, and will be all about strength and above all self-confidence. A real boost to your self-esteem!
• August 9 – Full Moon in Aquarius: called the Sturgeon Moon, the Full Moon of August in Aquarius will give us the push we need to reconnect with the people around us, but always respecting our freedoms.
• September 7 – ❤️ RED MOON Full Moon in Pisces: called the Corn Moon, the Full Moon in September will also coincide with a total eclipse that will not be visible from Italy. The sign of Pisces invites us to make some of our dreams come true: we will have to follow our intuitions, we will (almost) always be right.
• October 7 – SUPERMOON 🌝 Full Moon in Aries: called the Harvest Moon, the Full Moon in Aries in October will unblock several situations that have been stuck for too long. However, it will be better to postpone competitions and possible arguments… it will not be a favorable period.
• November 5 – SUPERMOON 🌝 Full Moon in Taurus: called the Beaver Moon, this Full Moon in Taurus in November will help us accept the changes that have occurred in the previous month. Easy, right?
• December 4 – SUPERMOON 🌝 Full Moon in Gemini: called the Cold Moon or the Long Night Moon, the Full Moon in Gemini in December closes 2025 with a need to share our feelings with others, especially regarding the year just gone by and the year to come.
SOLAR PARTIAL ECLIPSES 2025
Of the two partial solar eclipses, the first is expected on March 29, visible from Europe and only partially from Italy, the Center and the North-West, says the astrophysicist. The phenomenon can instead be observed well from Canada and northern Asia.
On September 21 it will be the turn of the second solar eclipse, also partial and visible only from Australia and Antarctica.
OTHER ASTRONOMICAL EVENTS OF 2025
JANUARY
Like a cosmic firework, at dawn on January 3, the Quadrantid meteor shower will peak to welcome the New Year.
It will be a show not to be missed because there will be no disturbance from the Moon and in the evening there will be a conjunction between the Moon and Venus.
The following day, the occultation of Saturn by the Moon will be very visible from Europe.
Among the planets, Mars will dominate the scene on January 16, when it will be in opposition of Earth, that is to say, Mars will be aligned with both the Earth and the Sun and will consequently appear larger and brighter in the sky.
FEBRUARY
A parade of planets is being prepared for February: they will all be visible at the same time.
Saturn will be a little more difficult to see with the naked eye, but the help of binoculars will be enough to also observe Uranus and Neptune.
SEPTEMBER
On September 21, it will be Saturn’s turn to be in opposition.
The brightest planets, Venus and Jupiter, will then appear very close in the conjunction of September 19, to which the star Regulus will be added.
AUGUST
The expected shower of shooting stars in August, ruined by the full Moon, will instead be disappointing.
DECEMBER
The shooting stars in December, the Geminids, are expected to be exceptional.
LUNISTICE 2025
Another feature of 2025 is that it is part of the years of the greatest lunistice. The lunistice indicates the northernmost and southernmost points where the Moon rises in the span of a month and the absolute extremes of this cycle, that is, the northernmost and southernmost points where the Moon can rise, are the greatest lunistices, which are reached once every 18.6 years.
The record was reached in 2024 but the lunistice of June 11, 2025, although not comparable to that of June 22, 2024, will still be interesting.
🧿✨ COMMENTS ON ASTROLOGICAL TRANSITS 2025
An interesting theme of 2025 is the transition of the slow planets from the feminine signs (Earth and Water) to the masculine signs (Air and Fire).
Earth and Water represent welcoming and intuitive energies, while Air and Fire bring action, reflection, creativity and passion.
This energetic shift reflects a push towards the spirit (Air) and action (Fire), which could manifest itself through technological advances, space exploration and ambitious projects.
However, Fire, if poorly managed, can also express itself in the form of conflicts or tension, and Air can become synonymous with superficiality, dispersion, lack of listening and confusion.
Epochal change of direction for the entire zodiac in the year 2025: the slow planets Uranus, Neptune, Saturn will move sign between spring and autumn, marking the beginning of a new era (Saturn and Neptune in Aries conjunct at 0 degrees: exact conjunction that will occur in February 2026): we set sail towards a new beginning with Fireworks.
The zodiacal climate prepares us for a new Beginning, and 2025 is a bridge and border year.
The Aries-Gemini values, harmonious with each other, will certainly generate a dynamic, active, collaborative/social energy (where communication at every level will play an important role) as the elements involved (Fire and Air) will also be positive with each other, to stimulate initiatives and resourcefulness towards a new 360-degree world, although with still unclear contours (Pluto in Aquarius).
The meeting between Saturn, emblem of discipline and responsibility, and Neptune, symbol of idealism and dreams, requires that personal actions are integrated into a shared commitment. This implies that each individual will be called to recognize their role within a broader context, actively contributing to the creation of a cohesive and responsible social fabric.
The interaction between Neptune and Saturn therefore invites humanity to a profound transformation, where the imagination and idealism of Neptune harmonize with the discipline and concreteness of Saturn.
This balance of values is essential if we want to achieve lasting and significant changes, and find the ability to face the global challenges of this period with a clear vision and a well-defined strategy.
It is therefore a powerful message, which calls for collective action. An invitation to each of us to take on personal responsibilities that, intertwined with those of others, aim to build a more just, sustainable and supportive society.
