Trine = 120˚ = between two planets that belong to the same element = easy flow of energy, energy finds no barriers

120 / 2 = 60˚ = Sextile

Sextile = 60˚ degrees = more than flowing energy: it represents the presence of a good opportunity or favorable support coming from a different prospective and supporting our life, because it does not connect two planets belonging tothe same element, but intead two elements that are in resonance (air-fire or earth-water)

Opposition = 180˚ = a clear and explicit opposition of two energies separated in diametrically far polarities, generating a personality stretched and extreme in its different excesses, coloured by strong fluctuations and uncertainties about its own identity, with self-generated hobstacles and a lot of existential pain. Opposition is more easy to be felt and then seen than the Quadrature, because Opposition is explicit and it is not between two different elements, but between two elements that in the end support each other (for exmple fire and air), but the two planets are really far on from the other and cannot dialogate together easily.

Quadrature or Square = 180˚ / 2 = 90˚= a clear presence of inner conflict, generating a deep and long existential pain and sufference that cannot easily be seen and recognized for what they really are. In the Square the two planets are in elements that are opposite of one another (for example fire vs water), so this means two planets that are enemies to each other, and we are here in this life in order to help them meet and cooperate finally.

90 / 2 = 45˚ = Semiquadrature

60 / 2 = 30˚ = Semisextile

Semisextile = 30˚ = aspect between signs of two non-similar elements
The Semisestile is more similar to the quincunx (150˚) because the quincunx is also between two non-similar elements (example: water-fire)

Ptolemy called Quincunx INCONJUNCTIONS, imperfect conjunctions, so planets that were almost ready to meet but in the end thei failed their conjuntion.

Semisextile are planets that are too close to each other and do not create aspects because they cannot see each other, they are too close. They create instead a permanent irritations, because they prevent things from being resolved in a simple way and create complications in the energy flow.
The semisextile is irritating because it is not possible to understand where the problem is, the planets are basic fluctuations that interrupt the flow of events, but since they are not in direct oppositions we are unable to identify them, see them, clarify them.

Quicunx similarly creates a division of the circle into odd and non-symmetrical parts.
